“Change your focus to see what’s underneath the behavior you see in front of you. Change your focus on how you think parenting should be and parent the way your child needs you to be. Change your focus to see and use your strengths. Change your focus to progress made, not perfection.” -Rebecca
My Story
I am a wife, daughter, mother and friend who is passionate about working with people. I have always enjoyed meaningful conversation over small talk. I want to know the why behind every person’s actions and behavior. This has led me down a path of getting 3 of my 4 children diagnosed with ADHD. There is more to ADHD than I realized. Knowing that medicine doesn’t fix everything (but can be an essential part), I learned all I could to help my children. I started noticing there are children, teens and adults with undiagnosed ADHD everywhere. They are often misunderstood by loved ones and others in their lives. I knew if I could help my children understand for themselves they are capable, strong human beings and can learn strategies that work for them, they would succeed in life. I am coaching others to be aware of the areas ADHD can be affecting their lives, help them overcome obstacles and find a game plan that moves them toward their goals. It’s rewarding to me to take part in this collaborative process and watch a person take control of how they show up in the world. Showing they are an expert in their own life and guiding them toward making lasting changes.
Credentials don’t make you good at your job. My life experience teaching kids and supporting misunderstood adults has molded my life well before becoming a professionally trained ADHD expert. But if credentials are important to you, I certified through the IACT Center and studied Family Sciences at BYU. I can help you recognize and tease out some of your challenges. Awareness of these pieces in your life empower you to make changes in places you want to be different.
I offer one-to-one coaching for children, teens and adults. I have been trained in Parent/Family coaching as well to help with strategies and understanding of ADHD in loved ones.
I do this work with a supportive husband, 4 incredible kids and 2 crazy dogs by my side. I can help you today and invite you to schedule a complimentary consultation with me. We can discuss working together to change your life. We can connect through skype, zoom or phone. Go to the Contact section or email me at coaching@rebeccabuffington.com and we will find a time that works for you.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely, Rebecca
